Philippines Takes the Lead of Group A

Chon Buri, 20 December – Day 1 of the SSL Gold Cup Asian Qualifier fired into action today with nation-against-nation racing in classic Pattaya conditions. Team Philippines delivered a standout performance, showing sharp boat handling and strong teamwork. They powered to victory in Race 1 after leading at the windward mark and sailing cleanly through a race full of close calls. In Race 2, the Filipinos stayed in the fight to secure second after a tight duel with Myanmar. 

“Leading the group does not change our mindset. We are not done yet. We are still racing and still competing. The atmosphere on board remains focused and hungry, and we want to stay at the front of the fleet.” commented Ridgely Balladares, Captain of SSL Team Philippines ahead of what is yet to come.
