Once a young sailor chasing the wind, I’ve now found myself guiding others to do the same. My sailing journey began in 2009 when I was just 13, starting out in the Optimist Class and later moving through ILCA 6, 470, and keelboats. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of representing the Philippines in both local and international regattas, each one teaching me something new about discipline, courage, and the pure joy of being out on the water. Sailing has shaped not only my skills but also my character. It’s taught me patience, resilience, and a deep respect for nature and teamwork. Today, I’m proud to pay it forward as a coach and instructor, helping young and aspiring sailors around the country discover the same passion that’s been my compass all these years. As a woman in sailing, I also stand for inclusivity and empowerment—proving that this sport knows no limits. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, or what stage of life you’re in—there’s a place for you on the water. Sailing continues to fill my life with happiness, purpose, and a sense of freedom that never fades.
